Round shaped cake made with flour, milk and eggs. The sheets on top of each other, very thin and fragrant, have granules of sugar, almonds and vanilla inside. They are then covered by hand with dark chocolate.

The Montecatini waffle is a typical sweet of the famous spa town Montecatini Terme (Tuscany), and was created between the 1920s and the 1930s, in boom of the liberty style and fortune of the city.
They are a natural waffle with a thin and fragrant pastry, which contains within it a delicate grains of sugar and almonds. The latter, present in the recipe with a minimum of 44%, make the Cialde di Montecatini particularly tasty.
The dough, less than a millimeter high, before being assembled with almonds and sugar, goes through a maturation phase of about 15 days depending on the period.
They can be eaten alone as a delicious biscuit, with ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate spread or fresh fruit salad, coffee and liqueurs.
