The Etrurian Premium Line was born from the research of the Etruscan origin of Tuscany, in particular in the area of Monteferrato and the archaeological area of Gonfienti, in the municipality of Prato, discovered between 1996 and 1997. Recent studies suggest that the legendary city-state of King Porsenna, Camars, was built here.
Founded in the 6th century B.C., Gonfienti was an important commercial center in Etruria, while viticulture developed in the neighboring areas (Carmignano, Comeana and Artimino). Etruscan wine was very precious and was exported to the sea in large amphorae. In banquets, very common in the period of Dionysian cults, the wine was diluted with water, or flavored and sweetened with honey, herbs, flowers, spices, etc., effectively laying the foundations for Vermouth as we know it today. The chalices and the cups (Kantharos) were also placed in the Etruscan tombs, so that the deceased could also celebrate in the afterlife.
