The scaldatelli are made with flour, oil and salt, like taralli, but they are cooked twice: first in boiling water for a few seconds, then they are dried and cooked in the oven.

They are a typical product of southern Italy, where they are also called scaldatelle. They can be eaten as an appetizer, as a snack, or instead of bread.
